The Diamond Rush Zimbabwe (Marange)

The Eastern part of Zimbabwe has been griped with the diamond Rush in a rural area under chief Marange. Many people in Zimbabwe have been flocking to dig Industrial Diamonds. Some people comes as far as Botwana, South Africa, Mozambique and Malawi to name a few places.

The Government has been buying the Diamonds through Minneral marketing Board but it seems they may run out of money. it is claimed that more that fifteen thousand people at one time were camping at the site.

One source claimed that we used to have three buses going to Marange now we are seeing thirty buses going to the diamond rush. and another source claimed , house maids and Garden staff are disapearing from work going to the diamond rush. it is even difficult to recruit maid and garden staff.

The Government is trying to manage the diamond rush by granting Permit to people. This may help to enpower the people of Zimbabwe and improve there quality of life .
